Paint Out: Wicker Park
July 4 @ 9:00 am - 12:00 pm CDT
The Wicker Park neighborhood was incorporated into Chicago in 1837 and became the center of well-to-do Polish life. Paderewski played piano on porches in the summer months (circa late 1800’s!). The old mansions are still evident. The popular painting spots include the park itself at 1425 N Damen, the tracks under the Damen El station, and the old storefronts along Milwaukee south of Damen. The flat iron building at the 6 corners is also popular.
