The CTA station is also picturesque. \nThere is street parking and a Starbucks at Sheffield/Armitage with restrooms.

The demo will begin promptly at 10:30am.\nPlease check our Facebook page for the location. DO NOT ask at the entrance as they will not know the location. \nAfter the demo\, head to one of the favorite painting spots such as the English Walled Garden\, the view of the Japanese bridge\, and the waterlily ponds. Be aware of your surroundings and do not block pathways or leave any litter behind. \nIf you are not a Botanic Garden member\, there is an admission charge. DESCRIPTION:Demo begins at  8:30am at intersection of Schiller and Wells.   Errol will show us his Plein Air techniques. \nOld Town is a busy thriving neighborhood which offers us many choices. You can paint at Twin Anchors Restaurant\, 1655 N. Sedgwick Street. This is an old fashioned restaurant with a 1940’s look. If you walk west\, you’ll find the historic St. Michael’s Church at 1633 N Cleveland Street or the Midwest Buddhist Temple at 435 W Menomonee Street. The Old Town Art Center is at 1763 N North Park Ave.\, which is an interesting street. If you prefer city buildings\, stores\, and restaurants\, then take a walk east to Wells Street. Whatever route you choose\, you will not be disappointed. Restrooms at Old Town Triangle Association or Starbucks at 210 W North Ave. \nWe are fortunate to have a demo this morning from Errol Jacobson\, leading Chicago plein air painter. If you haven’t seen one of Errol’s demos\, make sure you attend. He is an excellent teacher! \nThere will be a Members Only Zoom critique with Errol on Wednesday\, July 10th at 7pm. DESCRIPTION:Our guest artist for June is Frankie Johnson\,  Her colorful\, energetic work includes landscape\, figures and still life\, done in many media.  Frankie is the owner of the Main Street Art Center in Lake Zurich where she provides insightful help to her students.  She has won many awards and has published a book of her work\, “Painting Through Life.” \nToday’s paint out is a new one for the group.  Spring Valley Nature Center is located at 1111 East Schaumburg Road\, Schaumburg\, Il.  There is easy access from Rte 83\, near Woodfield\, get off at Higgins.  Entry sign is hard to see because it’s in the shadow of a big tree\,  people often pass it and then see it and turn around. We will meet in the parking lot of the Nature Center at 9:20 \n\nThis is from Frankie Johnson who we thank very much for putting this together\nWe are going to the floating pier at the: Wetland Bird Observation Area.\nFollow Signs\, ask people because signs aren’t great.\n\nI will be painting at the pond from the floating pier. \n\n\n

DESCRIPTION:This is a very exciting Sunday as Bill Marvin will demo how to approach painting trees.  We will have a zoom critique the following Wednesday.  There is one entrance just north of Oakton on Caldwell.  It leads to a long parking lot with our painting demo area to the east by the bridge.   Lots of parking and only a  porta-potty for your convenience. \nWe are hoping for wonderful fall colors to paint!  Walk further along the path for river views.  This preserve has a busy bike path so please paint in the shoulder area.

DESCRIPTION:Take note\, this takes place on a Sunday and starts at 9:30.  From the early 1800s until 1960\, Swedes ranked as Chicago’s fifth-largest foreign-born group.  One of the areas settled by Swedes was a bucolic subdivision called Andersonville. If you’ve never been to Andersonville you’re in for a pleasant surprise.    It’s known for its 19th century row houses\, as well as charming antique shops\, cafes and friendly people.  You’ll find all of this along Clark Street\, a popular commercial strip.  We’ll meet near 5300 N Clark near Berwyn and north of Foster.  The nearby Starbucks has a bathroom and there is parking on the street.
