DESCRIPTION:As part of Open House Chicago\, we are including several buildings on the tour for our paint out locations. More on that later. \nAnother option in this neighborhood is the Rockefeller Memorial Chapel\, a majestic structure about a block away at 5850 S Woodlawn. \nSome history: The Frederick C. Robie House is a U.S. National Historic Landmark now on the campus of the University of Chicago in the South Side neighborhood of Hyde Park.  The Robie House stands as an important part of America’s cultural heritage\, a powerful declaration of  Frank Lloyd Wright’s uncompromising vision for a new American architecture.  This famous home is constructed of red Roman brick and was one of the first residences to incorporate steel beams into its design. \nThe Plein Air Cafe (note: the name implies outdoor eating and not painting) is located next to the Robie House.

DESCRIPTION:For those of you who painted the Pink Lady earlier in the season\, the building will open its garden courtyard to the first 35 PAPC painters on site. Entrance through 975 W Bryn Mawr (the Northeast corner of the building) \nMasks are required and you must use a drop cloth\, but the drop cloth can be as simple as a beach towel. Set up easels only on the walkways; please don’t set up on the grass areas. \nEntrance through 975 W Bryn Mawr (the Northeast corner of the building) \nRestrooms/ Refrigerator Available (you can bring lunch and store in the fridge) \nPOP UP EXHIBIT: From 1pm-2pm\, there will be a Pop Up Show in the garden.  Bring additional work to sell; 3-4 paintings or whatever you can fit around your easel. Tables not allowed. \nClean up from 2:00-2:15pm. \nThis neighborhood is close to Uncommon Ground\, where we will have a curated exhibit in October. A good opportunity to paint this area in anticipation of October. \nPARKING: Parking might be difficult\, use building parking if available\, however space is limited. Ignore the pre-paid voucher for the building. \n4-8 hrs. $10\, 8-12 hrs. $15 \n Please note: The bike portion of the Chicago Triathlon uses the southbound LSD lanes and the riders turn around at Hollywood; this should be considered by artists who are driving to EBA. Cortland St. Painters have many options: the church\, charming side streets\, outdoor dining a few blocks east on Cortland\, and the 606 trail a block south on Wood. \nWe also have the option to paint the gardens of Bucktown. Look for an email\, sent Friday\, July 9th\, on how to sign up for a garden spot. First come/first served. \nPop-up Exhibit!  We will meet back at St Mary of the Angels at 3:30 to set up for a pop-up exhibit from 4pm-6pm. Don’t be discouraged! \nThis Japanese strolling garden\, also called Garden of the Phoenix\, is located on the Wooded Island in Jackson Park. \nAs a Japanese strolling garden\, views are framed from a meandering path. Seasonal plantings add texture and variety\, and typical elements such as a moon bridge\, lanterns\, and a waterfall\, are included. The garden now features a gate\, pavilion\, a stone water basin\, Turtle Island\, a moon bridge\, rock formations\, and several lanterns. The garden is also accessible by a bridge on the north side of the lagoon
