DESCRIPTION:Due to the NASCAR race\, we had to move our traditional July 4th weekend Riverwalk paint out to August. \nWe will be meeting on the riverfront at Michigan and Wacker near O’Brien’s Restaurant.  It’s a wonderful river view\, full of boats\, people and many Chicago buildings and cafes.  There’s also a beautiful view of the Wrigley Building. There’s public bathrooms along the riverwalk.

DESCRIPTION:Taylor Street is one of the most historic neighborhoods in Chicago. From the late 1800s to about the 1950s\, this area was a hub for Italian immigrants to settle and establish their families. It soon became Chicago’s “Official” Little Italy. \nShop fronts\, vintage side streets\, and parks make for a classic paint out. East of Ashland Avenue is the hub\, between Laflin and Loomis. Homes around Arrigo Park at Lexington and Lyle Streets are good subjects. \nGreat inexpensive sandwiches at Conte di Savoia. Restrooms at Starbucks. Street parking.

DESCRIPTION:Our guest artist for June is Frankie Johnson\,  Her colorful\, energetic work includes landscape\, figures and still life\, done in many media.  Frankie is the owner of the Main Street Art Center in Lake Zurich where she provides insightful help to her students.  She has won many awards and has published a book of her work\, “Painting Through Life.” \nToday’s paint out is a new one for the group.  Spring Valley Nature Center is located at 1111 East Schaumburg Road\, Schaumburg\, Il.  There is easy access from Rte 83\, near Woodfield\, get off at Higgins.  Entry sign is hard to see because it’s in the shadow of a big tree\,  people often pass it and then see it and turn around. We will meet in the parking lot of the Nature Center at 9:20 \n\nThis is from Frankie Johnson who we thank very much for putting this together\nWe are going to the floating pier at the: Wetland Bird Observation Area.\nFollow Signs\, ask people because signs aren’t great.\n\nI will be painting at the pond from the floating pier. \n\n\n

DESCRIPTION:This is a very exciting Sunday as Bill Marvin will demo how to approach painting trees.  We will have a zoom critique the following Wednesday.  There is one entrance just north of Oakton on Caldwell.  It leads to a long parking lot with our painting demo area to the east by the bridge.   Lots of parking and only a  porta-potty for your convenience. \nWe are hoping for wonderful fall colors to paint!  Walk further along the path for river views.  This preserve has a busy bike path so please paint in the shoulder area.

DESCRIPTION:This Saturday we have several options! \nOption one – Gillson Park and Beach is option one\, with lake views and views of the Baha’i House of Worship. \nOption two – The Baha’i House of Worship is option two\, with it’s gardens and the amazing house of worship. \nThe two sites are across the street from each other\, both in Wilmette\, with Baha’i at 100 Linden Avenue and Gillson at Michigan and Washington Avenues. \nThere is parking at the Baha’i on the premises. At Gillson\, there is parking but CAREFULLY read the parking signs. Near the lakefront\, parking is reserved for Wilmette residents only. Park closer to Sheridan or on Michigan Avenue. \nOption three – YES\, THREE!!! – This weekend is Open House Chicago and you have the option to paint at any of these locations: \n\nBaha’i House of Worship (Wilmette) PAPC paint out\nFirst United Methodist Church of Evanston\nThe Palette and Chisel Academy of Fine Arts\nWrigley Field\nGlessner House (1800 S.
