DESCRIPTION:Before the Gold Coast\, there was “Millionaire’s Row\,” a dense cluster of mansions belonging to Chicago’s most prosperous people between the 1600 to 2200 blocks of Prairie Avenue on the Near South Side.   We will be painting from 1800 – 1900 S. Prairie Avenue.  The Glessner House is located at 1800 S Prairie Avenue\, The Glessner House was designed by noted American architect Henry Hobson Richardson and completed in 1887.  It is a National Historic Landmark.   Bathrooms are located at the Community Center on 1800 Indiana Street next to cafe.

The present Osaka Garden had its beginning as Wooded Island in the 1893 World’s Columbia Exposition with additions following the 1933 Chicago World’s Fair. \nThe garden is located within Jackson Park\, by the southern lagoon behind the Museum of Science and Industry.  The address is 6300 S. Cornell Avenue\, but it’s best to check a map for the specific location. If you haven’t been here before\, it is a bit of a walk from the pay parking lot on Hayes Drive.  Please check Google maps. \nIt is a very special spot and well worth the hike!

DESCRIPTION:Take note\, this takes place on a Sunday and starts at 9:30.  From the early 1800s until 1960\, Swedes ranked as Chicago’s fifth-largest foreign-born group.  One of the areas settled by Swedes was a bucolic subdivision called Andersonville. If you’ve never been to Andersonville you’re in for a pleasant surprise.    It’s known for its 19th century row houses\, as well as charming antique shops\, cafes and friendly people.  You’ll find all of this along Clark Street\, a popular commercial strip.  We’ll meet near 5300 N Clark near Berwyn and north of Foster.  The nearby Starbucks has a bathroom and there is parking on the street.

DESCRIPTION:This is a new venue for our group and  should prove to be spectacular with city and Edgewater neighborhood views. Admiral on the Lake is Chicago’s most elevated senior living and retirement community.  The Admiral residence is excited to have us on their rooftop painting.! Only 20 painters will be allowed on the rooftop and a sign up sheet will be sent out beforehand.  If you don’t make the cut don’t worry\, the lively neighborhood will offer a fun painting day.  Parking pass info will be sent out at a later date.

This Queen Anne-style mansion was originally built in 1885 and boasts 19 fireplaces. The mansion faces a portion of Lincoln Park and the Chicago History Museum is nearby. \nLocated between State Parkway and Astor Street\, this will be the meeting point for those who want to connect at 9am. \nNote: This paint out is on a Sunday.  There is street parking but Spot Hero is suggested\, as many high rises offer parking via this app. There are no restrooms immediately nearby.

DESCRIPTION:This is an easy place to paint your perfect nocturne.  The Michigan Avenue Apple Store is located on the Chicago River with views of beautifully lit  buildings.  Everyone knows how active the Chicago river is during the summer so this is the place to capture the excitement. We begin at sunset.  We’re unsure of the bathrooms in the Apple store but across the street is the Wrigley building which houses Walgreens and Ghiradelli and they both have restrooms.
