DESCRIPTION:Demo begins at  8:30am at intersection of Schiller and Wells.   Errol will show us his Plein Air techniques. \nOld Town is a busy thriving neighborhood which offers us many choices. You can paint at Twin Anchors Restaurant\, 1655 N. Sedgwick Street. This is an old fashioned restaurant with a 1940’s look. If you walk west\, you’ll find the historic St. Michael’s Church at 1633 N Cleveland Street or the Midwest Buddhist Temple at 435 W Menomonee Street. The Old Town Art Center is at 1763 N North Park Ave.\, which is an interesting street. If you prefer city buildings\, stores\, and restaurants\, then take a walk east to Wells Street. Whatever route you choose\, you will not be disappointed. Restrooms at Old Town Triangle Association or Starbucks at 210 W North Ave. \nWe are fortunate to have a demo this morning from Errol Jacobson\, leading Chicago plein air painter. If you haven’t seen one of Errol’s demos\, make sure you attend. He is an excellent teacher! \nThere will be a Members Only Zoom critique with Errol on Wednesday\, July 10th at 7pm. DESCRIPTION:From 9-12\, we will paint along Sheffield and other side streets such as Fremont\, Dayton and Seminary\, where front gardens are easy to view. The neighborhood offers many interesting side streets. \nThe garden walk ranges from Armitage to Fullerton and Halsted to Clybourn. \nPlease check our Facebook page for details on painting in backyard gardens from 12-4. There will be sign-up details forthcoming. \nNote: There will be a sidewalk sale happening on Armitage Avenue\, so another area for interesting painting is the intersection of Webster and Sheffield\, by St Vincent DePaul Church. \n  \n

DESCRIPTION: This is on a Sunday\n\nPing Tom Memorial Park’s 12-acre site was originally a Chicago and Western Indiana Railroad yard located along the edge of the South Branch of the Chicago River. Named in honor of Chinatown’s most noted civic leader\, Ping Tom (1935-1995)\, the park offers a Chinese style pavilion and a different view of the skyline upriver.
