Maggie Capettini

Biographical Info Invested in the tradition of plein air painting, Capettini renders landscapes and architecture on location. Studio works, still lifes, and figure studies round out Capettini’s portfolio. She paints from life as often as possible. Using painting knives on panel, she applies and removes paint, creating a textured surface revealing layers of color. Her works embody an energy that draw the viewer in. Raised and currently residing in the Chicagoland area, Capettini holds a Bachelor of Arts in Studio Art and a Master of Arts in Teaching. She has studied at Palette and Chisel in Chicago. Capettini has won awards for her paintings, and her works are held in museum collections in Warrenville and West Chicago, Illinois, as well as private collections in the United States, Japan, Germany, and Canada.
