Paint Out: Prairie Avenue Historic District, Glessner House

Before the Gold Coast, there was “Millionaire’s Row,” a dense cluster of mansions belonging to Chicago’s most prosperous people between the 1600 to 2200 blocks of Prairie Avenue on the Near South Side.   We will be painting from 1800 – 1900 S. Prairie Avenue.  The Glessner House is located at 1800 S Prairie Avenue, The Glessner House was designed by noted American architect Henry Hobson Richardson and completed in 1887.  It is a National Historic Landmark.   Bathrooms are located at the Community Center on 1800 Indiana Street next to cafe.
