On a glorious Saturday, July 3rd, Stephanie Weidner, a founder of the PAPC, demonstrates a plein air oil painting focusing on the iconic multi-story American Flag hung each year from the Wrigley building. This is a PAPC member favorite because it is an iconic scene and, the site along the Chicago Riverwalk is festive and full of non stop people on the walkways, and boats, barges, kayaks and tours on the water.

Author Barbara Rosenstock and Illustrator Mary Grandpre’ collaborated to educate and inspire children through four gorgeous picture books about artists, Claude Monet, Vincent VanGogh, Wassily Kandinsky and Marc Chagall. With Robin Strand facilitating, Barb, writer of 18 nonfiction stories, and Mary, illustrator of the Harry Potter books, will discuss their inspirations and process for creating these wonderful books. They’ll offer insights on how we, as artists, can impart our knowledge and enthusiasm for art and plein air painting.
