Virginia Ferrante-Iqbal

Biographical Info Virginia’s paintings and drawings capture city streets, coffee shops, and hiking trails in a moment of time. She enjoys the immediacy and energy of working on-site and interacting with the people and places where she is. From the Adirondack Mountains to the streets of Chicago, New York City, and now Nashville, Virginia brings energy and color to her compositions. She is a graduate of the Parsons School of Design, NYC with a BA in illustration. She earned her MA in Medical Illustration from Johns Hopkins School of Medicine. She is currently a practicing Medical Illustrator at her company Ferrante Medical Media. Exhibits: The Palette & Chisel; Plein Air Painters of Chicago; Holly Pond Painters of Darien, CT; Sterling Glen of Darien; Darien Town Hall; the Association of Medical Illustrators. For one year she was the Artist in Residence at the Anatomy Lab, RUSH University Medical Center where she organized anatomy sketching sessions for local Chicago Artists. For fifteen years she taught Business Practices and Molecular Illustration at Johns Hopkins Department of Art as Applied to Medicine.
