A favorite painting site, the mansion is challenging with its arched entryway and multiple chimneys. Cross North Ave. to paint the park, or head south for other historic mansions and beautiful shaded streets. Street parking; no nearby restrooms. 1526 N. Astor Street
This is a fun day for iconic buildings and people. The Chicago Theater offers an iconic marquee, and the Marshall Field's clock is a block away. Challenge yourself with el tracks on Wabash. Use Spot Hero for parking.
A good meeting spot is St. Mary of the Angels church, at the corner of N. Wood St. And W. Cortland St., where there is generally easy street parking. Explore Damen Avenue for storefronts and restaurants. The 606 elevated walkway is nearby.
Montrose Harbor is located on the northern edge of Lincoln Park, a short walk from Montrose Beach. With a great neighborhood feel, Montrose offers outstanding northern views of the skyline, a strong dinghy fleet, and friendly boaters that call the harbor home. Painters will be located all around the harbor area.
The conservatory is a painting challenge! The gardens are beautiful and the fountain is a treat! If the conservatory area is not your thing, the zoo is right next door and the Shakespeare Garden is across the street. Restrooms in the conservatory and zoo; street parking but difficult. Zoo offers paid parking.
